Oak Creek Canyon and SLide rock

The day before the 4th, I decided to take a Zofran and go on a hike down Oak Creek with Dennis, the kids, and his brother and their kids. I was tired of laying around and wanted to get out, so I thought I would give it a go. The plan was to park up the road from slide rock and hike down the creek to it. Walking in the creek was really hard with all the slippery rocks! We all went down countless times, and got soaked. Needless, to say I'm glad that we didn't take the camera. We had two girls with us from one of Dennis's home teaching families, they were 11 year old twins and had never done anything like that before. After awhile they just wanted to get up to the road and finish hiking along the road. So I took them, ALlison, and my niece Kennadie and we walked along the road. It was really stressful, there is hardly any shoulder to walk on and I was nervous the whole time. Somewhere along there, I brushed against a very thorny bush and got a thorn in my leg. Needless to say I was very relieved when we made it, and exhausted. We beat the other guys by about a half hour or so. I was so tired and needing to lie down that I didn't really get in the water much. The kids enjoyed it though. We stayed there and played for awhile until it started thundering and lightening then decided we had better go. Poor Dennis and Darren had to hike all the way back up the road to get the cars! We were all so tired. I have to say that I am proud of myself for doing it, and I only needed to pull over once once on the way home. I have been really sore, and I still have that thorn in my leg, which is really starting to bother me. Dennis tried digging it out, but I couldn't stand much of that. Any suggestions?
